Joshua R. McKoon was born in Columbus, Georgia, graduating from Brookstone School. After graduating, Josh majored in Political Science and Communications at Furman University. Josh received his law degree from the University of Alabama. He became a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Alabama State Bar and practiced law with the firm of Page, Scrantom, Sprouse, Tucker & Ford, P.C. in Columbus for several years. In addition to being Of Counsel with Crowley | McKoon, P.C. Josh is a member with McKoon & Associates.

Josh is a general practitioner in the area of civil litigation. He has tried over 100 cases and has handled several appellate matters, including a successful appeal before the Supreme Court of Georgia in David Rothschild II et al v. Columbus Consolidated Government et al 285 Ga. 477, 678 S.E.2d 76 (2009).

Josh has been active in the community, serving on the Boards of the United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley, the Urban League of Greater Columbus, the Muscogee County Juvenile Drug Court, the Columbus Ballet, the Big Brothers Big Sisters Advisory Committee, and the Knights of Columbus.

Josh is a member of the Rotary Club of Columbus and has been active in its Career Day program to provide opportunities for High School students.

Josh is a Georgia State Senator representing District 29 which includes Muscogee, Harris, Troup and Meriwether County.
