Carter A. "Cap" Peterson of Wayne, Nebraska was named 2005 Professional Agent of the Year by the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents during an awards luncheon on April 9, 2005 in Arlington, Virginia.

Peterson was honored for his tireless work on behalf of professional insurance agents, his commitment to the highest standards of professionalism in his industry, his active leadership in PIA and his dedication to his community. "Cap Peterson has spent the last quarter-century building an outstanding agency - and at the same time, he has served the insurance industry through his active involvement in PIA," said PIA National President Terry Adams. "Our winner is a shining example of the core values that all of us as PIA members hold dear. He makes us all proud."
