Southern Realty and Financial Co. was founded in 1982 by Donald W. Jones. Mr. Jones began his real estate career in 1978 while apprenticing within the industry during his years as a college undergraduate. He received his Texas Real Estate Salesman License in 1982 and his Broker License in 1984. Since that time he has completed over 300 transactions for both private and institutional clients, including $22.5 million worth of brokerage contracts awarded by the Resolution Trust Corporation through its highly competitive SOS selection process.

Additionally, through affiliated entities Mr. Jones has sponsored or participated in 11 real estate investment partnerships consisting of commercial income properties and land held for capital appreciation. He also has participated as an active developer in three manufactured housing communities totalling 681 lots for both his own account and for his partners. As a land broker he has assisted the end users' development teams during the predevelopment phases of multifamily, hotel and retail properties with an aggregate value exceeding $180 million.

As Mr. Jones' professional experience evolved he realized that to properly serve his clients he had to identify sources of capital to help fund transactions in smaller markets, which in general lack the liquidity found in more dynamic metro markets. Mr. Jones now maintains relationships with a variety of lenders and their correspondents including local, regional and national banks, FNMA DUS originators, life companies, and CMBS conduit lenders.

Mr. Jones is a 4th generation Brazos County, Texas native and has resided in Bryan/College Station for all but 7 years of his life.
