The Pulliam Company was established in 1991 as a business intermediary and broker to assist business sellers and business buyers achieve their goals. The Company has participated in hundreds of transactions ranging in size from $20,000 to over $35 million. The Pulliam Company will help a seller properly price, finance, and market his business as well as prepare it for market while being mindful of the confidentiality and discretion concerns of the seller. We will also assist a buyer in finding and acquiring the perfect business in a number of ways: prescreening opportunities to match a buyer's skills and interests, keeping the buying process on track, and assisting with financing and paperwork.

Steve Pulliam

Steve Pulliam has been a successful business intermediary since the early 1980's and founded The Pulliam Company in 1991. He has been involved in hundreds of transactions from relatively small to over $35 million. Pulliam has a strong track record in negotiating, financing, and strategic planning as well as a keen understanding of the value of confidentiality, respect for employees and customers, and the value of a well-planned process for a sale or acquisition. Over many years in business, Pulliam has established a reputation of getting outstanding results for his clients.

A Frankfort KY native, Pulliam has resided in Lexington since graduating from UK. As a local entrepreneur, he has extensive knowledge of the Lexington and central Kentucky business environment. He is also a licensed Kentucky real estate broker and co-owner of the Lexington office of Sperry Van Ness and is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).

John Hilliard

John Hilliard joined The Pulliam Company in 2010. He is also a licensed Kentucky real estate broker associated with Sperry Van Ness, a Lexington KY commercial real estate firm. For over twenty years, Hilliard was Treasurer of a large, multi-national, private service company. In addition to his duties as the senior financial officer of the company, his responsibilities included acquisition of numerous businesses to expand the company's market share and geographic reach. He was responsible for analysis of business opportunities and negotiations with sellers and sellers' agents and attorneys. In addition, he was responsible for the acquisition, disposition, and leasing for a portfolio of over 200 owned and leased properties used in the company's operating businesses. Prior to his corporate role, Hilliard operated a real estate business, built homes, owned, operated, and sold a restaurant business.
