"Thoits Insurance was established in 1891 as an enterprise of the Thoits family, serving the commercial and personal insurance needs of small business in Palo Alto and the Stanford University community. In 1975, five employees bought out the Thoits family's interests and since then, the company has thrived as an employee-owned company.
