A native Tulsan, graduated from Mason High School, Tulsa and the University of Tulsa. Roy became an insurance agent in 1980 with Sentry Insurance Company as a large account specialist and an Independent Agent with Joe West Insurance Agency in 1981. In 1984 formed Thomason & Moss Insurance Agency and in 2001 Thomason, Tyler & Lynch Insurance Agency.
