How to Choose a Profession That Will Not Be Replaced by Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence will not take over people's jobs overnight. The upcoming changes will be gradual and humanity will be able to adapt to the new conditions. The future periodically declares itself. To understand this, it is enough to look at the office work. While offices were once filled with armies of administrative specialists, secretaries, and accounting assistants, today companies have a small staff who skillfully use digital tools.

Which occupations are at risk

It is wrong to think that artificial intelligence can replace people only in terms of performing routine, physically difficult work. Robots can handle creative tasks using complex algorithms. However, people’s advantage lies in the fact that they know how to think unsystematically and unpredictably.

Routine physical work

Employees who perform routine physical work are under the threat of layoff. This includes small clerks, sellers, as well as representatives of the service, manufacturing and catering sectors. In the next 10 years, these professions may be on the verge of extinction. This is not the first time technology has threatened jobs.

Before World War cars and trucks began to replace horses. People were forced to undergo special training to improve their skills and adapt to new technologies. The implementation of technology requires special knowledge. If you want to control robots, you need to be able to code and understand big data.

Well-defined, structured jobs

Another category of employees who may lose their jobs due to industrial automation is office workers who perform structured tasks and perform many routine actions at the same time. These, for example, include tax accountant Sarasota and legal assistant. Their work is cognitive and creative in its way, but artificial intelligence can easily cope with it.

Translators are also a good example of this tendency. The demand for the service is growing and can seriously compete with neural technologies. People have not more than five years to dominate in this market. Later, special programs will successfully work with the texts, eliminating the need for translators. In this case, people can only adjust to new conditions.

Low-skilled work

While technologies eliminate the need for certain professions they also create new workplaces. However, low-skilled employees will not be satisfied with these changes. Interacting with robots requires special knowledge and skills that a low-skilled individual does not possess. This means that laid-off people who do not have the opportunity to become engineers or programmers will be forced to occupy low positions with no career prospects.

Jobs that are less likely to be replaced with artificial intelligence

You don't have to worry about competing with artificial intelligence if you have the following profession.

Unconventional physical work

Robots will not be able to replace people who perform tasks that don’t depend on templates and tasks where human labor is more profitable compared to machines. There is no point in worrying about people who perform work that artificial intelligence is not able to do.

Non-standard creative work

Employees who perform non-standard creative tasks do not have to worry about their positions. For such professionals (doctors, engineers, mathematicians, managers, and designers) technology can only make the work easier. In some cases, machines even contribute to the creation of new specialties like SMM manager and a cybersecurity expert. For these professions, the programs serve as an assistant but not a full-stuck worker.
